From April 17th to April 23rd, 2023

#CHALLENGE #SELF_AWARENESS
Nicolás Uribe is a tremendously versatile, free and uninhibited artist. His training is rock solid, but his painting questions everything, and detaches from everything. His creative process is a giant resounding “What if…?”, as proof that Art always outlives its own rules.
Aleister Crowley said that “Nothing is true, everything is permitted”. This is precisely how Nicolás paints, under the assumption that no rule is real, and that EVERYTHING is allowed.
Mindset — Nicolás Uribe will put you in vulnerable positions so be sure to pack extra humility. This quarantine requires deep questioning of academic tenets.
Technical requirements — Basic oil painting skills.
Requirements
Prepare to disappoint your preconceptions.
Don’t be on guard. Be attentive and open-minded.
Prepare for a crisis —but hey, you’ll love it.
Nicolás Uribe will teach you how to challenge your preconceptions and erase the beliefs that limit you in your creative process.
Nicolás Uribe’s quarantine is designed to bring about profound change in the way we observe, conceive and use reference. You’ll take part in various challenges both inside and outside the studio, designed to get you to detach from (almost) everything.
This boot camp is an exploration, and the exercises will remain secret because keeping you on your toes is the best way to take advantage of all their benefits.
This is not a program to learn to paint like Nicolás Uribe. The goal is to learn how ideas are arranged in his head, not just the colors on his palette.

Application questionnaire
It is of the utmost importance to answer the following with your most exposed honesty.
We select the most committed artists, not the most polished artists. We don’t care how good you are, how much success you’ve had, or even how many followers you have. What matters is what lights you up from the inside, and that you’re eager to learn and meet other lovers of art. In short, why you do what you do.
If your heart is set on attending Quarantine, we recommend applying sooner than later, as applications will be reviewed in stages and groups are likely to fill up. We suggest you select more than one option for your mentor to have the best possible chance to get Quarantined.
